Uganda Wildlife Safari and Gorilla trekking
Day 01: Drive to Murchison Falls NP
Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe, be ready to depart by vehicle to the north of the country to Murchison Falls National Park. You should be ready to leave by 7:00 am.
Murchison Falls National Park has the most spectacular falls, the 40 metre wide River Nile, on its journey from its source at Lake Victoria to join Lake Albert, is suddenly compressed into a gorge only six meters wide, and cascades into a boiling pot 43 metres below. The earth literally trembles at Murchison Falls, one of the world's most powerful flows of natural water.
En route you will stop at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a morning Rhino trek.
A trained ranger will meet you and give you an introduction to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Depending on the location of the Rhinos, you will drive to the starting point and then approach the Rhinos on foot. You will then observe the Rhinos in a natural habitat at a close and safe distance. The Rhino trek excursion takes 1 -2 hours.
You will continue to Murchison Falls National Park stopping for lunch at the Kabalega diner. After lunch, continue on your journey crossing by Ferry to Fort Murchison. If time allows, you can visit the top of the falls

Day 02: Game Drives, Launch cruise
Early morning safari drive before the sun rises in the Buligi, Albert and Queen's track, you will see plenty of game. The tracks are found on the northern banks of the River Nile. Return to the lodge.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Hippos and crocodiles are abundant and you will see elephants and buffaloes, waterbucks and birds like Herons, Cormorants, Ducks, bee eaters, fish eagles, king fishers and the rare shoebills. The boat trip to the falls and back takes 3 hours. Return to the lodge.

Day 03: Morning and afternoon game drives
You will spend the day exploring the grasslands and woodlands of Murchison Falls National Park. Full day game drive on the Northern Bank. Your game drive will take you through open grasslands and acacia woodlands. Dominating the plains’ horizon is the blue-grey western wall of the Rift Valley and shimmering waters of Lake Albert.

Day 04: Drive to Kibale Forest
After breakfast, you will embark on a long drive to the western side of the country, to Kibale Forest National Park. This is a beautiful, forested area, which links into the QENP eco system. You will spend one night here, allowing time in the morning to trek chimpanzees. This will be a long drive of approximately 8 – 9 hours. You will arrive late in the afternoon.

Day 05: Chimpanzee tracking, Queen Elizabeth NP
After an early breakfast, you will be driven down to the Kibale Forest National Parks’ headquarters to meet your guides for who will accompany you to trek chimpanzees. You will find the forest alive with noise and you should be lucky enough to see the habituated chimps during your trek. The trek generally takes most of the morning, and then lunch, before continuing to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way on a clear day you will have a view of the dramatic Rwenzori Mountains.
You will be spending two nights in QENP area allowing time to explore the park. Your 2 nights will be spent at Mweya Safari Lodge Lodge with all meals included.

Day 06: Game drives/ launch trip on Kazinga Channel
Wake up very early in the morning and head out for a game drive in the Kasenyi track and Queen's mile in the park. During the game drive you may spot game like the lion, leopard, Uganda kob, elephants, cape buffalos, waterbucks and many other animals. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Later visit the Katwe salt pans.
In the afternoon there will be a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. On this cruise you will see a high concentration of hippos and many other animals can be seen drinking at the water's edge. If time allows, you can go for another game drive.

Day 07: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
From QENP you will drive down to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will have a game drive in the Ishasha area of the park known for it's famous tree climbing lions, if you are lucky you may spot them.
The drive to Bwindi is beautiful as you rise from the plains upward into the mountainous regions with fantastic vistas. Arrival in Bwindi will be late in the afternoon.

Day 08: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi
After breakfast you will be escorted to the National Park headquarters to meet your guides for your gorilla trekking experience. An early morning trek into the forest on the slopes of the volcanoes, led by experienced trackers will bring you amongst a family of Mountain Gorillas.
These massive primates are extremely rare, only approximately 650-700 remaining.
The gorilla trekking experience may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer is not uncommon – at relatively high altitude. You will get within metres of the family, and be privileged to spend time amongst them.
Time permitting you have an opportunity for forest walks with the guides, village walk or visit the hospital (all these are optional activities not included in cost)

Day 09: Lake Mburo National Park
From Bwindi we head towards Lake Mburo National Park, a lovely stop over en route from the gorillas to Entebbe. This small park offers you the opportunity to either walk in the park, or go on a game drive. Arrive early afternoon at Mihingo Lodge for a 1 night stay at a retreat adjacent to the park, afternoon boat trip on the lake.

Day 10: Departure
Early morning game drives before your return to Entebbe; stop at the equator for photo opportunities and curio shopping en route! Transfer to airport to connect with your international flight out.
