Rwanda Gorilla and Chimp trek Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival -Parc Nationale Des Volcans

Upon your arrival at Kanombe International airport for your Gorilla and Chimp trek Rwanda, our driver
guide will be waiting to transfer you to Kinigi at the bottom hills of the volcanoes. If you arrive
early and on a week day, your guide can take you on a city tour visiting such places as the genocide
memorial in Gisozi.

Day 02: Rwanda Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast depart for the park headquarters where the park guides will give you a briefing .  After briefing you will embark on your Gorilla tracking tour in Parc Nationale Des Volcans.  Tracking the gorillas in the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a rewarding experience. If you are lucky, you can see the gorillas within a few minutes but it can sometimes take up to 8 hours before you see them especially if it is muddy and wet.

If your Rwanda Gorilla tracking finishes early and your are still physically fit, you can take time to explore the beautiful lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo.

Day 03: 2nd Gorilla Trek and cultural Walk

A second chance to trek a different group of gorillas to maximize your gorilla tracking experience.  In case the gorilla tracking finishes early, a community visit can be arranged for you by your driver guide.

Day 04: Golden Monkey Tracking

After breakfast you will go tracking the most endangered golden monkeys, return to the lodge for lunch and then later go for a community walk to be arranged for you by your driver guide.

Day 05: Mt Bisoke Hike

After breakfast you will drive to Bisoke for hiking. The hike takes approximately 3 hours but depending on your fitness it can take less or above the estimated time. Return to your lodge and later transfer to Kigali for overnight.

Day 06: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

After breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, on the way you will visit the reconstructed King's palace at Nyanza, the Butare Museum and Murambi memorial with a stop for lunch at Butare. You will then continue to Nyungwe Forest.

Day 07: Chimpanzee tracking

Very early breakfast then depart for your chimpanzee trek in Nyungwe Forest. The forest is also home to other primates including the colobus monkeys and has many bird species.

Day 08: Kigali City Tour - Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali, if you missed to do the city tour on the day of your arrival, this is your chance to do it. Later transfer to Kanombe International Airport to connect with your international flight out.
