Primate safari Uganda Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival

On arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be met by our driver guide and transferred to the Boma Guest House for an overnight stay. If you arrive early you can either take a walk to the botanical gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education centre formerly the Zoo.

Day 02: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kibale Forest, your drive will be via fortportal arriving at your lodge for a late lunch. In the afternoon visit the Bigodi wetlands, good for birds.

Day 03: Chimpanzee Tracking

This morning after breakfast, you will be taken to Kanyanchu interpretation centre for the start of your chimpanzee tracking. You will enter the forest in search of the chimpanzees and other primates that include species like the black and white colobus monkeys, return to the lodge. In the evening you can choose to either go for a village walk or just relax at the lodge.

Day o4: Drive Bwindi Impentrable Forest

Early breakfast then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will arrive in Bwindi late afternoon.

Day 05: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Early morning breakfast then transfer to park headquarters for a briefing from the ranger guides on the gorilla trekking etiquettes. Gorilla trekking takes place deep in the thick forest, you will be in the company of the ranger guides searching for the rare mountain gorillas.

It is advisable to carry a picnic lunch and plenty of drinking water with you as the time of the trek is quite unpredictable. It can take from 1 - 8 hours. once located you will spend one hour viewing the gorillas. Return to the lodge for overnight

Day 06: Departure

After breakfast you will depart for Entebbe. The drive will take you through the scenic Kigezi country called the "little Switzerland of Africa", with a stop for lunch in Mbarara and the equator. The driver guide will drop you off at the airport to connect with your international flight out.

*Please note that the drive from Bwindi to Entebbe is a long drive of not less than 10 hours. Your flight therefore should be late in the evening. Alternatively you could arrange for a night in Entebbe.

Notes: Mnimum age to trek the gorillas is 15 and chimpanzee trek 12. Gorilla permits must be paid in full to confirm the safari and are also non-refundable.
