Dian Fossey Footsteps

Day 1: Volcanoes National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning, drive north to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, you can decide to have an optional community walk or experience a true Rwandese culture in Ruhengeri, if time permits. Overnight Mt Gorilla View Lodge BLD

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

Early morning breakfast and be transferred to the Park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing before the trek. Set out in the forest to search for these rare Mountain Gorillas. The time you will spend in the forest searching for the mountain Gorillas is not predictable as it depends on where they spend the last night.

Once encountered, you will spend one hour in their company, observing their behaviour and feeding patterns, after the gorilla trekking, you will retrace your way back to the headquarters for certificate issuing. If time permits, have a scenic drive to the twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo. Overnight Mountain Gorilla View Lodge BLD

Day 3: Dian Fossey Grave Hike

This morning, you will participate in the trek to Karisoke Gorilla Research Centre which Dian Fossey, the famous primatologist set up. Because of her struggle to protect the endangered mountain gorilla in Rwanda, a voluntary project was found called; Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International. Please note that this adventurous activity takes a full day. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight Mountain Gorilla View Lodge BLD

Day 4: Departure

After leisurely breakfast return to Kigali to connect with your international flight out. B
